Stuart Surridge UFO Ball AS SEEN ON SOCCER AM The first ever official football league ball. CLICK HERE In conjunction with Stuart Surridge, England's oldest established football manufacturers the football league developed this revolutionary design for a 32 panel football.

The brief for the new design was to produce a ball which would be more visible to players, officials and spectators, against all types of background and in all weather conditions.

The new ball has 12 red panels, which form a seam like effect around the ball. Four of these red panels are stamped with Heraldic crest (only on the original the Football league would not allow us to produce this on the replica balls, because they have a new crest which they want to market) of the football league. The 12 links of the chain featured in the crest represent the original 12 member clubs of the football league (of which one is Accrington Stanley who play in Surridge kit). All other panels are white and the contrast of the 2 colours makes the ball exceptionally easy to see, against any background. The football league registered the design of the new ball worldwide. UFO UK design registration no. 988760/1. This design is now used in over 80% of footballs main in the world.

The official ball was launched at the 1979 football league cup final, Nottingham Forest v Southampton and the ball selected for this prestigious occasion was the UFO 1 ball.

Mk Dons were nominated in three categories in the second annual Football League Awards including Best Kit Design. The kit, which lost out to Burnley FC's Away Shirt, designed by Surridge, has been popular amongst supporters this season and impressed the judges enough to make the cut. As the club moves into a new age in the coming months, it wanted to remember it's time in Milton Keynes so far by teaming up with Surridge to create a design not only cutting edge of modern style, but with the city's history at it's core.

12/7/2006 - Irani brilliance defeats Sussex !!

Skipper Ronnie Irani struck a stunning unbeaten century as Essex sealed top spot and ended Sussex's hopes of a place in the Twenty20 Cup last eight.

The visitors required eight from the final over bowled by Yasir Arafat, but Irani hit the first ball for six before smacking a four off the final delivery.

Two wickets fell in two balls in that final over leaving one needed off the final delivery, but Irani swotted a boundary to reach his ton.

The Surridge Website has changed its pricing so that non EU customers can purchase without VAT. Previously the site had pricing inclusive of VAT due to mainly UK based custom, but due to a large amount of non EU customers we have had to produce a new system. The new system shows prices to be without VAT at 17.5% which if inside the UK or EU will be added before you purchase. VAT included prices are shown in most of the product descriptions.
